Although the likelihood of the tank rupturing is remote, tank valves or connections such as this one can be damaged extensively causing propane liquid or vapor to exit the tank at an excessive and dangerous rate. If the propane vapor cloud comes in contact with a source of ignition, extensive damage, injury or death can occur. Moving your own propane tank is a dangerous activity.
